Labor Day Run 8 HILLY Miles at Saguaro National Park - Tucson

"Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there's love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong." - Ella Fitzgerald

For this run, the rolling hills are unforgiving! This will be my third year, and experience tells me to run with patience and perseverance as each hill you conquer another one awaits on your path. However, do not be intimated but instead try to enjoy the scenic landscape of the southwest. The surrounding views of endless Saguaro cacti trees and the mountainous terrain allows you to momentarily forget the race. The finish line however is the only true sign of mercy on this awesome 8 miler running event.

Running Season is almost here!!!

The running season in Arizona is about to go in full blast for both short and long distances, trail runs, half and full marathons. Not to mention, there are a handful of triathlon races that triathletes have already completed (you know who you are), and other's continue to train very hard everyday. As an avid runner and a novice triathlete, I'm super excited and looking forward to what the next few months will bring. Primarily, I'm looking forward to start running and training with a group. There is nothing more powerful than joining a running group or getting a running buddy!!!

I've been working on newer running routes through out Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, and Mesa area. I will be sharing them in the next few weeks. In addition, we now have the resources and tools to create a personalized running schedule, either if you are an entry level runner or a track star, we can easily put one together for you.

Finally, the B12 Running TRIbe is an open registration running club at this time. More details soon to come.

Disclaimer: I, Jeff Palomares, is not a licensed physical trainer. Thank you.

Stay tuned for more updates. A Facebook page will be up and running soon!

God speed!

Sustainability Goals

Community members need to envision and communicate what they want their community to be like in the near and distant future. Of course, creating goals for a community is a lengthy and arduous process that involves compromise and, ideally, consensus. The following exercises will help communities start the process; however, other activities will be needed to complete the task of creating sustainability goals.

The exercises to create community sustainability goals are:

  1. Meeting Your Neighbors
  2. Building Consensus  - www.esdtoolkit.org/community_goals/consensus.html
  3. Seeing Your Community Through a Sustainability Lens - www.esdtoolkit.org/community_goals/sust_lens.html
  4. Envisioning a Sustainable Future
  5. Society Strips - Every girl and boy should receive education that teaches the knowledge, perspectives, values, issues, and skills for sustainable living in the community
  6. Creating Community Sustainability Goals: Deciding What Is Important
  7. Questionnaires, Vision, Dreams, Brainstorming
